Ho, Feb. 25, GNA - The Volta Regional Minister, Mr Joseph Amenowode has announced a special package for the Region's Cross Country team towards its preparations for Saturday's race in Sunyani.
Mr Amenowode said a number of gold medals to be achieved by the team would make the Region and the participants proud and urged them to aspire to that goal.
The Regional Minister who kept the package under wraps, urged the team to display the spirit of commitment, dedication and devotion. He assured the team of the total support of the Regional Coordination Council and the people of the Region and reminded them that of the exploits and achievements of other sportsmen in past races who had brought honour to the Region and urged them to emulate such feats.
Mr Amenowode cautioned the team against using illicit drugs and exerting their energies on frivolous activities to the detriment of their sport and health.
The Regional Minister later presented four crates of soft drinks and two cartons of Ideal Milk to the regional team. Master Emmanuel Asiklotsi, captain of the team said the members were determined to bring the ultimate trophy to the Region.
