Black Stars forward Mohammed Kudus has a staggering £85m release clause in the contract he signed with English Premier League side West Ham.

According to English media outlet The Athletic, Kudus’ release clause will be active when the 2024/2025 Premier League season ends.

This implies that various teams interested in the player would have to pay the release clause to secure his transfer.

Meanwhile, Kudus recently had a bust-up with West Ham United coach Julen Lopetegui.

The Ghanaian forward and the Spanish coach are reported to have exchanged a few words after Kudus was hauled off in the second half of West Ham’s game against Brentford over the weekend.

According to The Athletic, the club hierarchy has informed the player's entourage that there is no tension between Kudus and Lopetegui and that the incident has been exaggerated.

Kudus reportedly clashed with the manager, expressing his dissatisfaction for being subbed off at halftime during their one-all draw against Brentford on September 28, 2024.

The Athletic states that the manager had a frank exchange with the Ghanaian, criticising him for a poor performance, which was deemed unfair by the player.

However, the issue was resolved as Kudus joined his teammates on the bench to watch the rest of the game.
