Legendary Ghanaian footballer, Mohammed Polo, has cautioned Mohammed Kudus to be wary of the number 10 jersey he is wearing due to past issues.
According to him, players who have worn the number 10 jersey in the past have had problems with their performances when they play for the Black Stars and sometimes face injury concerns.
The legendary player, who dazzled with the Black Stars and won AFCON trophies, pointed out Kwadwo Asamoah as an example.
Speaking in an interview with Connect 97.1 FM, Polo warned Kudus to stop wearing the number 10 jersey if he is not spiritually inclined to deal with the setbacks.
“We all remember what Kwadwo Asamoah came out to say some time ago about the number 10 shirt. The dreams he said he was having and all. If Kudus is not strong spiritually, he should just stop wearing the number 10 jersey and go back to his number 20 jersey because there is a lot in that jersey,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kudus failed to register a goal or an assist in the two games the Black Stars played against Sudan in the qualifiers for the 2025 African Cup of Nations while wearing the number 10 jersey.
After four matches played, Ghana is third in Group F with two points, Sudan is in second place with seven points, while Angola leads with twelve points.
The Black Stars will travel to face Angola and play the last match against Niger in Ghana in November 2024.
