The General Manager of the Moscow Olympics bid committe, Alexander Chernov, has stated that Moscow is the ideal citiy for the olympic games in 2012.. He has therefore called on delegates attending the Association of National Olympic Committess of Africa (ANOCA) to choose the city on July 6.

Mr. Chernov, who is head of the Russian national football team added that Moscow is the city which has made huge contributions to the Olympic Movement and is right for the people to be rewarded for their paasiion for sports. "We have more olympic champions that any biddind cities together , which clearly shows the passion that Moscow has towards the Olympic Movement"

Moscow is bidding to host the quadrennial for the first time since the 1980 Olympics. But Chernov believes it is their first time since the last time the games came to the city, Russia was then under the Soviet Union.

Moscow along with the other four bidding cities namely Paris, New York, Madrid and London will make presentations to delegates attending the 11th General Assembly of ANOCA which opens in Accra today. The meeting, which is the last formal gathering of the Olympic Movement before the winning cadidate is selected on July 6 in Singaapore, provides a good opportuinity to win floating votes for the contesting cities.
