A political marketing lecturer at the University of Ghana Business School, Prof. Kobby Mensah, has shared his thoughts on how some Ghanaians perceive politics in Ghana.
He pointed out that based on his observations of the political system, it has come to his notice that some individuals view politics as a sporting activity and follow it as such.
The lecturer noted that most people support political parties based on their interests, likening it to football fans who stand by their teams through good and bad times.
Prof. Mensah stated that the act of fandom in politics by some sections of the public will eventually lead them to realize their mistakes and understand the differences.
“Most people in Ghana see politics as sports, and supporting political parties as an act of fandom. One day life will teach you the difference,” he wrote on his X page, on July 30, 2024.
In the political system, there are some people whose support for their favourite political parties remains unwavering, regardless of whether their government is performing well in the office or not.
