Mourinho contacts Avram Grant over Baba Rahman

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has contacted Avram Grant over the qualities of Ghana defender Baba Abdul Rahman.

The 20-year-old has been a hot summer transfer target so far following his exploits in the German top flight with Augsburg.

Chelsea are one of the clubs reportedly interested in signing the Ghana international.

Sportscrusader.com is now reliably informed that Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has started making enquiries about the quality of the full-back from Black Stars coach Avram Grant.

Grant who coached Chelsea to the finals of the 2008 Champions League has been working closely with Baba Rahman at the international level.

Mourinho wants to gather as much information as possible about the former Greuther Furth defender before ordering an official bid for him.

The left-back is reportedly being tracked by a hosts of elite European clubs including Real Madrid, Roma and Inter Milan.
