Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder Issah Mumuni reckons that he is gradually adjusting to life at his new club and would start performing to the expectation of fans once he gets fully settled.
The 18-year-old joined the Phobians from second-tier side Dreams FC at the beginning of season but is yet to achieve first team spot.
Mumuni says he is looking forward to rediscover the brilliant form that made him centre of attraction in the transfer market last season.
“I am happy at Accra Hearts of Oak. It is a great club and one of the best on the African continent, although I’m yet to hit top form since joining in the off season. It is great to be here,” Mumini told Goal.
“It has not been easy for me because I’m still adapting to the team’s style of play and other things. At my former club Dreams FC, I had the audacity to roam with the ball in the middle and delivered passes. But at Hearts of Oak, there are restrictions to my game so I am now going by what the coaches are teaching me,” he said.
Mumuni notes that Hearts are gradually making strides after a poor start to the current campaign, believing the team could clinch the 2015 Ghana Premier League title, eventually.
“It is not over. We can still win the league as there are lots of games to play. We have a good coach who can turn things around for us on any day. It has been a great experience for me playing at the highest level in Ghana's domestic league,” he said.
Mumuni has appeared five times for Hearts of Oak in the ongoing GPL campaign.
