Sulley Muntari has injury problems. Ghana midfielder Sulley Muntari's recurrent injury problems are raising fears that he could miss the Black Stars' crucial World Cup qualifier against Mali next month.
The Inter midfielder has this week been undergoing training separately from the rest of the squad, following a specific program.
Muntari is carrying an injury and could only manage 67 minutes in the 2-2 draw with Chievo this past Sunday to the dismay of coach Jose Mourinho.
'The Special One' wanted to rest the player, but saw no viable alternative in midfield and started him in Verona.
"Muntari and [Cristian] Chivu had not trained all week and I did not want to risk them. We are struggling a little bit," Mourinho explained.
The Nerazzurri doctors are confident the Ghana international will be available for this Sunday's match against Siena at the San Siro, when Inter have the chance to mathematically clinch the Scudetto.
While he has not fully recovered from the injury, him playing in the final matches of the Serie A could aggravate the injury and could ruled him out of Ghana's World Cup clash with Mali in June which is few weeks away.
Muntari has been solid for Inter in his first season at the club, playing in 25 Serie A matches and scoring three times in the process.
