New Ashanti Gold SC Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Frimpong says his appointment is based on merit.

According to the Switzerland-born entrepreneur, he was not surprised to be appointed the Miners' CEO and is ready for the big task ahead.
"I wasn’t surprised on my appointment as the CEO for Ashgold, it’s a big task but I know we will get it done with enough support."
"My dad(Dr. Kwaku Frimpong) is one of the smartest guys and he knows I have the capabilities to do the work, my appointment was on merit," he told Kumasi FM.
"There is nothing man cannot do on earth with determination. I want to make Ashgold one of the biggest club in Ghana and make Ashantigold players the best in achieving their goals.
He added, "We have many sponsors in the pipeline and very soon the world will know about it."
"Together with the supporters, we will work as a family. The current impasse has been dealt with after the supporters wrote an apology letter to my father, we will work smoothly."
