My dad cried when I won the GFA presidential election – Kurt Okraku reveals

The ecstatic mood that engulfed the Okraku family was not only limited to the newly elected GFA President and his wife who gave him an aggressive kiss at the election ground but also to his father, Okraku Snr.

Popularly known as Decide, the 95-year old man who was keenly following the happenings of the elections at the comfort of his home in Achimota, broke down in tears when his son – Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku – emerged winner.

Kurt Okraku revealed this on Peace FM’s popular morning show program Kokrokoo on Thursday morning.

“My dad cried very well. Because he had seen that a day will come for me to be where I am long ago,” he said.

“My dad had seen my football passion at an early stage, reason why he tried handing me over to Kwabena Yeboah to mentor me.

“In his opinion, Kwabena Yeboah – whose newspaper I always bought to read – was better placed to shape my career,” he added.

Kurt on Friday, October 25 2019, was pronounced the new GFA President after winning massively with 93 votes following three rounds of voting.

The new GFA President whose life has been impregnated with football from infancy to his current state claimed his dad believed in him and knew he will be on top of football one day.
