Black Princesses head coach, Charles Sampson
Charles Sampson has opened up on the football journey of his daughter Sharon, revealing the sacrifices and strict discipline that shaped her rise in the women’s game.
The Black Princesses coach disclosed that his daughter initially had little interest in football but eventually joined in because her brothers constantly played the game at home.
“She didn’t want to be left out,” Samson said.
Charles coached Sharon for nearly seven years during her youth development in Sweden.
However, he admitted being extremely demanding of her because she was his daughter.
“If you ask Sharon now, the day I stopped coaching her was the day she thanked God,” he joked.
Sharon later joined Swedish giants Hammarby before earning a scholarship to study medicine in the United States.
