Legendary Ghanaian footballer, Rev. Osei Kofi, has revealed some aspects of his lifestyle as a footballer before he later became a Christian and a pastor.

According to his account, during their football days, there was no professionalism as it is today, and they were treated like amateurs, which gave them the freedom to do as they pleased.

The 1963 and 1965 AFCON winner indicated that his footballing skills attracted many women to him, which he enjoyed at the time.

Speaking in an interview with Muftawu Nabila on JoyNews, Rev. Osei stated that women would visit him at home even when he did not go out to meet them.

However, after having an encounter with Christ, he has refrained from such a lifestyle and is now focused on his pastoral work.

“The Bible says the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. I am a Christian, and through football, I became a pastor. So, it is the fear of God that is in me, because there were many things I was doing while playing football, but I have stopped. It’s not just Christianity, but it’s the reason I am still strong at age 84.

"In those days, we were not professionals but amateurs, so, as for women, I had many at that time. It was my talent that got me the women. If I didn’t go out, they would come. I am telling you the truth,” he said.

The legendary footballer indicated that he now has twelve children and a loving family.
