Normalization Committee Chairman Dr. Kofi Amoah has called on corporate entities to assist Kotoko and Ashanti Gold in their Africa campaign.
The two Clubs are currently representing Ghana in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup respectively after winning the NC Special Competitions.
Kotoko were crowned Champions of the Tier I hence gaining the sole ticket to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League with Ashanti Gold also grabbing the only available slot for the CAF Confederation Cup competition after winning the Tier II.
Both teams have already received financial assistance from the Normalization Committee whose mandate to run Ghana football comes to an end in a couple of weeks.
Dr. Kofi Amoah has therefore pleaded with cooperate Ghana to come to the aid of the two Clubs as they prepare for their next tasks in Africa’s Inter-Club competitions.
“The general success of the NC Special Competition also included the selection of two Ghanaian Clubs for the 2019 CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup which were deservedly won by Kumasi Asante Kotoko FC and Ashgold FC respectively,” he said in his open remarks at Thursday’s extra-ordinary congress.
“We wish both of them the best of luck and they have our full support. We wish to also appeal to corporate Ghana to join and assist as the success of these two clubs will elevate “Brand Ghana” and hence also put a shine on corporate Ghana and their export products and services.”
Kotoko prepare to play Etoile Du Sahel in the CAF Champions League playoffs. Ashanti Gold on the other hand will take on Moroccan side RS Berkane in the CAF Confederation Cup.
