The Board Chairman of the National Sports Authority(NSA), Hon Kwadwo Baah-Agyemang has revealed that the Ghana Football Association(GFA) does not fall under the small business category and thus cannot benefit from government Coronavirus stimulus package.
According to the NSA Board Chairman, the local clubs should have written to the governments individually since the stimulus package was purposely designed for small business entities that have been badly hit by the novel virus.
Many football administrators have expressed their displeasure at their exclusion from the stimulus package but Hon.
Hon. Kwadwo Baah Agyemang in an interview with Kumasi based Sikka FM hinted that the GFA's proposal was dead on arrival.
“Ghana Football Association's proposal to the government for support from the stimulus package was wrong,”
He continued: “Individual clubs could have sent their proposals individually because the stimulus package is for only small scale businesses and GFA isn’t in that category". He concluded.
