Accra, Aug. 8, GNA - The National Sports Council (NSC) and its affiliate associations will soon relocate to the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex to facilitate renovation work at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium. Consequently, plans are underway to refurbish the Complex to put it in good condition to accommodate the offices.

Mr Charles Aryeh, Acting Chief Executive (ACE) of the NSC said the Estate Officer of the Council had completed feasibility study of the Complex and had tendered a report in that respect.

He said the Council would have to look for money to undertake the refurbishment to enable the NSC to operate from there.

The ACE did not however disclose how much would be involved in the project but said, "the financial details are being worked out." Mr Aryeh said the Council was not aware of the kind of renovation work that would take place at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium even though he predicted that the East (Osu) and South Stands would be reconstructed based on their poor nature.

He said he did not know if the main block would be affected, neither could he tell when work would begin at the Ohene Djan Stadium.

The ACE said the renovation of the Complex would lessen pressure on the facilities at the Ohene Djan as the lawn tennis courts and other facilities would be refurbished.

He said most of the work at the Complex would involve repair and installation of electrical lines, fixing of doors, louver blades and nets, painting, fixing of security apparatus, reactivating the plumbing network and fixing fans and air conditioners. 08 Aug. o5
