Namibia searches for national coach

Accra, Feb 10, GNA - The Namibian Football Association (NFA) has extended invitation to qualified soccer coaches around the globe to apply to handle its national team, the Brave Warriors.

The FA has therefore requested for the assistance of various FA's in encouraging their well-qualified coaches to apply for the position.

A request issued to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and made available to the GNA Sports, stated that coaches interested in the job must posses an International Coaching License and relevant Coaching Diploma whilst a Teaching Diploma and an Instructors Certificate would be an added advantage.

The coaches are also required to be computer literate, excellent in communication skills, able to maintain confidentiality and have strong cooperative leadership.

Salaries and time period of engagement will be based strictly on negotiations and agreements reached between the two parties. A statement from the General Secretary of the NFA, T. Damaseb said the job descriptions of the coach would be include attending to all football areas of coaching of the senior national team and responsible for the senior national team's result orientated participation. The coach would assist the team with the preparation and development of youth teams, scout and identify players for the national team and develop playing methods and systems for the team as well.

The coach will also be responsible for planning and organisation of trial matches for the senior national team and engage in game observation for selecting players for the team.

The selected coach will also be involved in administrative duties, identify medical demands and needs as well as other technical duties as required by the technical director.

The request was also copied to the FA's of South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Romania, Nigeria, Russia, Germany and England. The deadline for submission of applications is February 17, 2006.
