Not in any celebratory mood despite claiming the scalp of the country’s champion football club, Abedi Pele’s Nania FC want to face Ghana’s record league winners Asante Kotoko in the final of the MTN FA Cup.

Nania staged a sensational upset, coming twice from behind to hold elected Glo Ghana Premier League champions Berekum Chelsea 2-2 before going on to win the semi final tie 5-3 on penalties last Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

But Annor Walker, head coach of the Division One League side says they are not surprised by the win and that they are looking forward to claiming the MTN FA Cup with a historic victory in the June 26 final against the biggest club name in Ghana football. Mr. Annor Walker has told All Sports Nania, which a couple of years ago beat giants Hearts of Oak 2-1 in a friendly game, have tried several times without success to play Kotoko why he fancies the Kumasi club in the 2011 Ghana FA Cup decider.

“It wasn’t a surprise that we beat Chelsea because I know what my boys can do and the preparation that we went through. Now we will love to meet Kotoko in the final because it will be a good game. They have turned down many of our requests to play against them but I think now they can’t turn us down,” Coach Walker said.

Backing the coach is Abedi Pele himself, the Maestro promising better things to come from Nania FC. “I am not surprised we won because we have worked hard over the last years and the players were keen for a big platform to prove just how good they are. What is more important is to continue exhibiting wonderful football. We want to give fans great football,” Abedi said.

And to their fans, Coach Annor has pledged that Nania will not only give good football, they will also reward them with the new MTN FA Cup diadem, even if they will still play in the second tier league come next season.

“I promise our fans that we will give them the FA Cup so they should rally behind us with their prayers and support. We will do all to win the cup for them,” Mr. ‘Mourinho’ Walker told All Sports.
