Accra, Nov. 24, GNA - The National Sports Council has reminded spectators that all political party paraphernalia such as flags and posters as well as singing of political party songs and slogans will not be tolerated at the Accra and Kumasi Sports stadiums.

Mr D.A. Kwapong, Acting Director of the Ministry of Information on Wednesday said the ban is in connection with the epic first leg CAF Confederation Cup matches between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko sporting clubs.

He urged all spectators to comply with the directives to render the over 500 security personnel to be deployed to the Accra stadium redundant.

The matches were scheduled for the Accra and Kumasi Sports stadiums on Sunday, 28th November and 11th December, 2004, however, the General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association, Mr Kofi Nsiah later in the day announced the postponement of the matches due to security reasons. He said new dates of the matches would be announced by CAF on Thursday, 25th November, 2004.
