National Sports Council dissolves Executive members

Accra, Jan. 31, GNA - The National Sports Council (NSC) has said that Executive membership of all National Sports Associations and Committees have been dissolved with effect from Tuesday, February 1, 2005.

The Council said the dissolution was in accordance with Sports Regulations, 1976 L.I 1088 (establishing National Sports Associations) Part I Section 6 (1).

A Press Release issued and signed by Mr Albert Agboso, Acting Executive Officer of the NSC, copied to the GNA Sports said all the Executive members are therefore kindly requested to hand over all equipment or properties in their possession.

The members are also to account for moneys received from the Association for or on behalf of the Association to the acting Secretaries General of the Associations whom, Mr Agboso said remain in their acting positions pending the reconstitution of the membership of the National Sports Associations.

Mr Agboso on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the Board, Management and Staff of the National Sports Council expressed their deepest appreciation to the out-going Executive members for sacrificing their precious times and energies towards the development of the various sports disciplines.

He said the Council also hope that the out-going Executive members would continue to offer their services in other ways and means towards the development and promotion of sports in Ghana.
