National Volleyball team begins camping

The National Volleyball team, the Black Spikers, have commenced residential camping ahead of the qualifiers for the Federation of International Volleyball (FIVB), World Cup in Cairo, Egypt.

A team of 26 players and officials commenced preparations at the Accra Sports Stadium, after which they would go into residential camping for the qualifiers.

The Spikers, prior to this stage, defeated Nigeria and Niger 3-1 and Cote d'Ivoire 3-0 during the zonal qualification on Niamey in July.

Three teams are expected to qualify from each of the seven zones forming the African Volleyball Confederation.
