National chess championship on October 22

Accra, Oct. 18, GNA - A one day national chess open championship, under the auspices of the Ghana Chess Association, (GCA) will take place at the Benefit Plaza, Kanda Overpass in Accra on Saturday, October 22. The competition, which begins at 8:30 a.m. is to rekindle interest in the sport and regenerate public interest in it.

Mr Hamid Issakah, Public Relations Officer of the National Sports Council (NSC) said in a statement that all chess players wishing to participate in the competition should pay a registration fee of 10 thousand cedis to the GCA.

Spectators are also invited to patronise the championship.
