Network Assurance to insure Queens

Accra, Aug 21, GNA - The Network Assurance Company on Thursday announced a personal accident package worth 1.2 billion cedis to members of the women national team Black Queens at a short ceremony in Accra.

The group personal accident policy covers all the twenty players and the thirteen officials accompanying the team to the forth edition of the women's version of the FIFA world cup billed for the United States.

The package, according to Mr. Seth Twum, managing director of the company, will be in two categories ie, death and permanent disablement and temporary disablement.

Mr. Twum who said the package will cater for the Queens whiles in the US for the month long fiesta added that the presentation was in line with the company's aim to assist in the promotion of football on the international scene.

Mr. Ben Koufie, Chairman of the Ghana Football Association who (GFA) received the package for the team which is currently on a training tour in the States said it was timely and thanked the donors. The chairman conceded that the Queens have been sidelined for some time now as compared to their male counterparts but expressed satisfaction that Ghanaians are gradually realizing the need to support the team.

He called on other cooperate bodies to assist the team in their quest to lift high the flag of Ghana during the competition.
