A new Club competition to be played by Premier and Division One sides will be added to the football calendar, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed.

With the legal tussle between King Faisal and the Football Association still on going, the Ghana Premier League has been delayed.

The GFA therefore agreed to begin a competition to keep the Clubs active in anticipation of the start of the new football season after the court case is resolved.

The Executive Committee on Thursday received the report submitted by a three-man committee which was tasked to draft the proposal for the new competition.

“The Executive Committee has accepted the report submitted by the three-man committee and has agreed that the competition will be made a permanent competition on the GFA calendar”, GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

He also revealed sponsorship was being sought for the new competition.
