A new date has been fixed for the Congress and elections of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GABF).

According to a source very close to the GABF, the new date is May 11, 2015 and the closing date for collection of nomination forms is now April 15 with April 17 as the new date for vetting of candidates.

He said the congress was postponed to allow a level field for all contestants and also to attract massive media coverage.

So far, two people are standing for the presidency, they are Gideon Quartey of Accra and Eugene Appiah of Kumasi.

Ike Bazooka Quartey recently came in the news as interested in running Ghana amateur boxing, and the authorities say he can take a nomination form for the democratic process.

Meanwhile, the Congress of the Ghana Kick Boxing Association has also been fixed for Monday April 21, 2015 with Nii Adote Gyata, Mankralo of Sakaman in Accra also known as Joe Mingle, a former kick boxer as the sole candidate following the withdrawal of Col Sharpe.
