New Sports Bill is like a "story book"- GABF Prez

The President of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation, (GABF), Gideon Quartey has called for an urgent review of the newly-passed sports bill.

Parliament last week passed the Sports Bill which seeks to develop the game after long years of wait.

The Bill that has replaced the SMC Decree 54 of 1976 will among other things manage, promote and develop the various aspects of sports in the country.

But Mr. Quartey in an interview with Starr Sports, measures must be taking to amend so many things in it since the bill looks like a story book.

"I think the whole bill must be reviewed again...I am not the only one saying this because I believe some of the parliamentarians are also saying the same thing".

"We need to work as soon as possible to amend so many things in it other than that, what is there is like a story book," Mr. Quartey said.
