SECAUCUS, New Jersey: The New York Red Bulls traded former Dutch international Dave van den Bergh to FC Dallas for Ghana forward Dominic Oduro and a second-round selection in this week's Major League Soccer draft.
The teams also swapped first-round picks in Thursday's draft. New York will select 11th overall. FC Dallas will select 14th.
Oduro, 23, had a career-high five goals in 25 games last year.
Van den Bergh was acquired from the Kansas City Wizards in 2007 for a third-round MLS supplemental draft pick. The midfielder scored a career-high seven goals. He tallied the game-winner in New York's win over Real Salt Lake, giving the organization its first conference championship and a berth in the MLS Cup final.
