Manager of Newcastle United, Rafael Benitez has responded to a question about Christian Atsu’s future at the club.
The winger, on a season-long loan from Chelsea, came off the bench and scored on Wednesday in their 2-0 away win at the DW Stadium against Wigan Athletic to take his tally to three goals in as many games.
Newcastle manager Benitez, whose side take on Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday was asked whether he wanted to sign Atsu permanently.
“At the moment, he’s signed for next game with Burton. I’m pleased with that. We don’t talk about market now.”
Atsu, who has had a series of loan spells since joining Chelsea from Porto in 2013 – spoke about his future in October.
