Nigeria and Ghana will again rekindle their rivalry in soccer when her boys and girls teams clash against each other in the final of the 1st West Africa Academicals Football Championship at the National Stadium in Lagos tomorrow.

The girls will line out first to battle for who wins the maiden edition of the competition which is not only aimed at developing the game in the sub-region but to build friendship among the youths of West Africa.

When both sides met last Wednesday at the same venue, the result was a 1-1 stalemate as the Ghanaians came from behind to pull level with their Nigerian counterparts who lacked the finishing power to wrap up the game from the numerous chances that came their way.

The Ghanaians who were more composed could carry the day as they must have understood the style of play the Nigerian girls are likely to present.

The boys final is expected to produce a more exciting match as the Nigerians would do all they could to ensure that they are not defeated on home soil. To reach this stage Nigeria pipped Benin Republic 1-0 on Wednesday while Ghana handed Togo a 2-0 spanking yesterday, with a goal coming in each half of the match.

Today Togo and Benin Republic would play in the loser?s final and later in the night all the participants would be treated to a musical and cultural show. The championship would be rounded off tomorrow after the final matches with a gala night for the teams.
