Nigerian footballer Paul Julius has tragically lost his life in a car accident in Cyprus, just weeks after joining Cypriot club Enosis Neon Paralimniou.

The young and promising attacker was involved in a head-on collision on the Paralimni-Protaras road, which claimed his life.

Julius had recently made the move to Cyprus from Egyptian side El Gaish, signing with Enosis Neon Paralimniou only three weeks ago. His untimely death has shocked the football community, leaving his club and fans in deep mourning.

Enosis Neon Paralimniou expressed their profound sorrow over the loss of Julius in an official statement, mourning the passing of a talented player who had just begun his journey with them.

"The entire family of E. N. P bids farewell to our team footballer Paul Julius who so unjustly passed away yesterday morning following a car accident. Paul has been an impeccable young, great footballer with high goals and ambitions. Paul, you will always be remembered and in our hearts, even though the days you were with us were few.
