No arrest in Ebenezer Ofori’s car theft case – Police

The Ghana police hierarchy say there has been no arrest so far following the robbery incident that occurred at the residence of Black Stars midfielder Ebenezer Ofori in September.

The Stuttgart midfielder was on international duty with the Black Stars during the eventuality.

Robbers broke into Ofori’s apartment at Hatso a suburb of Accra and raided his home, taking away valuables and subsequently drove away his white coloured Range Rover with registration number GS 2026-17.

Starr FM Sports investigations have revealed that the police is yet to make any arrest, seven weeks after the attack. The case has also been transferred from the Atomic Junction Police Station to the Police CID Headquarters.

“No arrest have been made so far. But investigations are still ongoing,” Olivia Turkson, Public Relations Officer of the CID told Starr Sports’ Henry Asante Twum. Insiders say the Police has informed all its units at the borders of Ghana with detailed information about the car.

FACTS OF THE MATTER 1. The robbery case happened at about 2:30 am in the early hours of September 4th 2017.

2. The house where the incident happened is not Ebenezer Ofori’s residence as earlier reported.

3. There were two Cars parked on the compound at the time of the incident. The Robbers made away with the Range Rover and left a BMW Saloon car.

4. The apartment is a rented hostel that house students of Wisconsin University College and not Ofori’s residence as reported. He was there to visit his girlfriend.

5. The said girlfriend has since vacated the apartment. And that is interfering with investigations according to the Police.
