Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah has allayed his injury fears by insisting he was only withdrawn from the 2-0 win over Comoros as a precautionary measure.
The 25-year-old limped off early in the 2018 World Cup qualifying game for the Black Stars on Tuesday in Kumasi.
Mensah failed to make a return to the pitch as he was replaced by Daniel Amartey.
Fears were rife the Evian TG man had sustained a hamstring injury.
These fears have however been allayed with the central defender insisting he only came off to avoid an injury.
I didnt pull it [a muscle], he assured.
It was just tired muscles and I wanted to avoid injury that is why I pulled out.
Mensah will thus be returning to club duties in a clean bill of health.
The former Free State Stars man had only returned to first team action after serving a four-month ban for breaches in transfer regulations during his move from Udinese to Evian TG back in 2011.
