Ghana team top manager George Afriyie has called on the entire set up not to underestimate their group opponents in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars are drawn against Mozambique, Rwanda and Mauritius in Group H.

The draw appears quite favourable to Ghana, who have normally qualified for tournaments with ease.

However, Afriyie believes making it to the finals in Gabon would come easy as it seems only if the team guard against complacency and work hard.

“There are no more minnows in football, so we are not going to underrate any team in our group although on paper we are favourites to top the group,” he said.

“Mozambique, Rwanda and Mauritius are equally good. They have been improving and I believe they’re equally eyeing the finals, so for me it won’t be easy.

“One thing we must do is to guard against complacency because our opponents will come really tough. We must not underrate any side,” he said.

The qualifiers will take place between June 2015 and September 2016, with only group winners and two best second placed teams to qualify for the tournament.
