Former Hearts of Oak captain, Yaw Amankwah Mireku, has intimated that nobody player is bigger than the club.
Mireku’s comment came after seven players of the club decided not to renew their stay after their contract expired at the end of last season.
The players are Vincent Atingah, Fatau Mohammed, Thomas Abbey, Robin Gnagne, Leonard Tawiah, Ghandi Kassenu and Kwame Kzito.
“l share your pain and feel your heart bit since this issue of player contract arose but let me advice and encourage you at this emotional times that we find ourselves.”
“NO PLAYER IS BIGGER THAN HEARTS OF OAK.Where are the Polo’s, the Shamo’s and the fearsome five? Not to talk about the 64 battalion and the Virgin cup squad.”
“These individuals and group of players are no more playing, but Hearts is still Alive. The management should engage the player or players but should not beg a player or players to play for the club because there are equally good and better players who are hungry to make name for themselves and knocking on the doors of the club.”
“I advice the management to work hard and get replacement that supporters will not remember this painful moment.STILL NEVER SAY DIE UNTIL THE BONES ARE ROTTEN.”
Mireku spent 10 years in (1997-2007) Hearts of Oak, during his stay with the Phobians he won six league titles, one FA Cup, three continental tiles – the CAF Champions League, Super Cup and the CAF Confederation.
