Commentary on Aiteo becoming a sponsor of the Ghana Premier League (GPL) appears to be gaining weight by the day.
However, the Communication Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Ibrahim Sannie Daara has dispelled rumours on the possibility of the energy firm taking up sponsorship of the Ghanaian Premier League.
According to Sannie Daraa, although officials of Aiteo have said that they would consider Ghana, there’s been nothing official at this stage.
They want to keep their focus on Nigerian football. What you and I have been hearing on Aiteo sponsoring our league isn’t anything; there’s been nothing official, Sannie Daara told Accra based Asempa FM Sports on Wednesday.
“Aiteo is one of Africa’s fastest-growing energy leaders” according to a publication on their website. [They] are an integrated energy group with a clear vision for the future and the experience and assets necessary to provide oil and gas on a regional and global scale. [They] discover, produce, store and deliver energy resources to marketplaces worldwide”.
They are the main sponsor of the 2017 CAF Awards Night, which will be held at the International Conference Centre in Accra on January 4, 2018.
