Accra, Aug. 15, GNA - Nuru Paddy of Young Stars Cycling Club emerged winner of the first ever Ghana Cycling Association's (GCA) Akwaaba Open Cycling Championship after shrugging of challenge from 41 competitors.
The Championship, which, was under the sponsorship of Promasidor Gh. Ltd, (Cowbell) covered a total distance of 105 km with 35 laps and had representatives from all the ten cycling clubs in Greater Accra Region participating.
Nuru Paddy clocked a time of one hour, 41 minutes and eight seconds, with a to win the competition and was closely followed at the second position by Francis Tetteh of City Migro, who made it in one hour, 41 minutes, nine seconds, with Samuel Anim of Young Stars Club winning the third position with a time of one hour, 41 minutes and ten seconds.
Moro Yakubu of Dome Stars Club won the fourth position with one hour 41 minutes and 11 seconds, whilst William Nartey of H.M Club clocked one hour, 42 minutes with Isaac Donkor taking the sixth position with one hour 43 minutes and one seconds.
Worlanyo Agra, Chief Executive Officer of the National Sports Council (NSC) promised that the Council will continue to support the sport to ensure that it develops to its highest level.
