President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, has hailed Black Stars defender John Boye for his mental fortitude.
John Boye was maligned by Ghanaians notably for his gesture after he was pictured kissing money during the Black Stars embarrassing World Cup campaign in Brazil.
The photo which attracted widespread criticism blighted John Boye’s performance during the qualifiers to the AFCON.
Boye again missed his place to young and enterprising centre back, Daniel Amartey during the opening games of the 2015 African Cup of Nations.
Despite the setback, the 26-year-old was at his best when he had the opportunity to play against South Africa.
Boye’s recent impressive performances have attracted massive commendation from Nyantakyi.
“I am told he was down after the World Cup and we all know what came up after the competition, but he has been able to come back strongly and we saw his performance for the team during the AFCON”, Kwesi Nyantakyi told Sportscrusader.com.
“He is mentally strong and a great defender as well, we hope that he will be able to continue and excel as a player for this country”.
