Nyantakyi bodyguard pulls gun on Hearts of Oak fan

The drama surrounding GFA president Kwesi Nyantakyi's attack at the Accra Sports Stadium seem unending as one Bawa, a personal bodyguard of the FA chief, pulled a gun on a Hearts of Oak fan and threatened to shoot him in the head.

A supporter of Accra Hearts of Oak and a leading member of the Musical Chapter O, AS Wumpini was allegedly threatened with a gun by the personal bodyguard of the Ghana Football Association President at his Asylum Down residence on Thursday.

Wumpini had gone to the office of the GFA capo in the company of other influential figures in the Hearts of Oak fraternity to apologise on his behalf, for his involvement in the verbal attacks on the CAF Executive committee member.

But the incident took a dramatic twist when the said bodyguard pointed a gun at the fan threatening to shoot him if he dare move, insisting he (bodyguard) can shoot and kill anyone and nothing will be done to him".

Narrating the incident to Ghanasports, Wumpini said "I had gone there to apologise because I was advised to do so after I was picked up by the police for adding my voice to the people that booed him".

"I admitted that I erred and so under the normal circumstances, I was supposed to render an apology so together with some figures in Hearts, we went to his place at Asylum Down",

"But immediately I entered, a man wielding a gun rushed in my direction and pointed the gun at me threatening to shoot my head if I move".

"He came saying he knew me and that I was lucky he wasn't around otherwise I would have been dead by now."

"At a point, I thought he was just angry but he opened the gun and pulled out six live cartridges and told me that if I thought he was joking, this was the bullets and he was going to kill me."

"Seriously I was scared, he frightened me to the extent that I was looking around for help but most of the people who saw his gun rage started running for their lives"

"He looked straight at me and said, ‘my name is Bawa and I’m from Yendi. Go and ask about my record there before I came to Accra. I can shoot you and nothing will be done to me."

Wumpini is supposed to sign a bond at the Nima Police station on Tuesday 12th May, but Ghanaposrtsonline.com understands that his lawyer has advised he refuse and also report the threat on his life".
