Nyantakyi elected GHALCA and GFA Vice Chairman

Accra, April 28, GNA - Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi an Accra based legal practitioner was on Tuesday elected as the Vice Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) for a three year term.

By his election, Mr Nyantakyi also becomes the Vice Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) according to the rules and regulations of both organisations.

Mr Nyantakyi polled 66 votes as against 33 by Alhaji Abdul Karim Gruzah Founder and Chairman of Kumasi King Faisal.

Though six other positions were contested, the position of GHALCA vice chairmanship took a centre stage at the day's congress of the association because the winner of that contest would automatically ascend to the management board of the GFA as a Vice Chairman.

In the other elections Mr Joseph Yaw Appiah retained his position as Chairman of GHALCA by polling 55 votes against Mr Kofi Manu, Accra Representative of Berekum Arsenal, who polled 14 votes.

For the position of Treasurer, Mr Emmanuel Adotey of Power FC won with 64 votes while Alhaji T.I. Haruna had 35 votes with Richard Quarshie former Treasurer elected to represent the association on the Professional League Board (PLB) Mr Kwame Ntow Fiako, Vice Chairman of the Division One League (DOL) obtained 65 votes to beat Mr Maxwell Sarfo Chairman of Suhum Maxbees who polled 26 to become a representative of the Division One League at GHALCA, while Jordan Anagblah will also serve on GHALCA as a representative of Division Two Clubs after winning 60 votes against Geoffrey Oteng-Arthur.

Mr Fred Papoe of Accra Great Olympics was elected unopposed to join the management board of the GFA.
