The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has expressed confidence Kwesi Nyantakyi would win a seat at FIFA Executive Council.

The Ghana FA boss is among five candidates contesting for two slots allocated to Africa on the FIFA Executive Council.

CAF First Vice President Suketu Patel of Seychelles pulled out of the race earlier this week, leaving Second Vice President Almamy Kabele Camara from Guinea, CAF Executive Committee member Ahmad of Madagascar, Niger FA chief Hamidou Djibrilla and Senegal’s Augustin Senghor to compete for the slots.

Despite the huge competition, Saanie Daara, in an interview with Class Sports’ Desmond Decker, said: “I will say if people were to be making polls, they will probably say Kwesi is leading the polls. He has campaigned very well, he has washed his hands perfectly with the elders not only in football in Africa but in the world. From the information we are having, he is likely to coast to a handsome victory.”

The election is set for the 29th of September at the headquarters of CAF in Cairo, Egypt.
