Nyantakyi returns home after FIFA triumph

The President of the Ghana football Association (GFA), Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi, received an overwhelming and heroic welcome when he touched down at the Kotoka International Airport around 14 : 00 GMT following his election onto the Fifa council.

Mr. Nyantakyi interacted with the media and proceeded to the headquarters of the GFA, where executives and staff of the association held a brief welcome ceremony in his honour.

Mr.Nyantakyi is the first Ghanaian to be elected onto the Fifa council after clinching the second spot after polling 31 votes at the General Assembly of the Confederation of African Football.
