Yankah believes his former boss will eventually return to football administration

Ghana FA executive committee member Kojo Yankah has insisted that former Fifa Council member Kwesi Nyantakyi will be cleared of all charges levelled against him.

Nyantakyi was caught on camera accepting gifts in a documentary titled 'Number 12' produced by Ghanaian undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

The acceptance of gifts by football officials and administrators flouts the rules and regulations of the world's football governing body.

The former Ghana FA president, who was also serving as Caf’s first vice president, has been handed a 90-day ban from all football-related activities. He has resigned from all positions previously held.

However, Yankah believes his former boss will ascend to the highest office in football once exonerated.

"I'm still solidly behind Kwesi Nyantakyi because I know he's clean. I swear that Kwesi Nyantakyi will come back to football administration stronger in the future," Yankah told Hello FM.

"He will come back and will even become very influential than he was in the past. Mark my words that after he is exonerated from all the charges levelled against him, he will become GFA president again and then win an election to become Fifa president," he added.

Nyantakyi reigned as GFA boss between December 2005 and June 2018 and was even planning to seek reelection in 2019, according to reports.
