Nyarko Future To Be Decided

Manager Walter Smith has revealed that Ghanaian international Alex Nyarko could return to first team training within the next few days.

The Blues' Boss is due to speak with the midfielder at some stage of this week after allowing his ?4.5 million signing time to ponder over his footballing future.

The 27-year-old announced that he wanted to walk away from football after an angry fan confronted him on the pitch during the recent defeat at Arsenal

But after travelling with his national side for their World Cup qualifier with Sierra Leone at the weekend, it seems that he may have reconsidered his decision to quit the game. (misinformation?)

However, reports suggesting that he is already back at Bellefield training with the rest of the squad have been quashed by the Goodison Chief.

"He may be later in the week, but certainly not at this stage," Walter told the official Everton website.

"We gave him a bit of time to think about his overall situation and we will speak with the player again this week, which will determine where we go from there."

Meanwhile, Phil Jevons has not been offered a two-year extension to his current deal, despite some newspapers on Sunday suggesting otherwise.
