PARIS (AP)- Ghana midfielder Alex Nyarko has quit Paris Saint-Germain, the club that had loaned him from English Premier League side Everton until June this year.
"I will no longer play for PSG," the team's Web site on Friday quoted Nyarko as saying. "I am tired, my life as a footballer does not satisfy me. I spend all my time changing clubs without really knowing the outcome."
Nyarko spent last season on loan at Monaco, playing 26 games. He has played 18 times for PSG this season. But he is frustrated that neither side signed him permanently from Everton. In January, PSG turned down the option to secure his services for 4.7 million euros (US$4.4 million)
"I get the impression that everywhere I go, nothing really happens," the 29-year-old said.
"I've been a footballer nine years and I reckon I've suffered too much ... I need to sort my head out right now, because I've hit rock bottom."
"After six months at Monaco, where I had settled into the team, the directors were not able to keep me. It's the same story with Paris today, and Everton no longer wishes to keep me even though I still have two-and-a-half years left on my contract."
Monaco Technical Director Henri Biancheri said Nyarko was a model professional while with the principality side last season. But financial constraints meant Nyarko was not offered a permanent deal.
"He worked hard, trained hard and never gave us any problems," Biancheri said in a telephone interview.
"After a slow start he became an excellent player for us. From January onwards he was very, very good. But we could not sign him given the financial situation of the club."
Biancheri, twice capped for France in 1960, said he thinks PSG, currently in 11th place, will miss Nyarko's consistency.
"As a defensive midfielder he is always present and is rarely injured," he said.
Should Everton, fifth in the Premiership, refuse to take him back, he could seek his fortune much further afield.
"If I can get any sort of contract, be it in China or in Dubai, I'll take it," Nyarko said. "If this enables me to help settle down with my family for the long-term."
He threatened to retire completely from football two years ago, when an Everton fan, angry at his performance, stormed onto the pitch and offered to swap shirts with him.
Nyarko's last game for PSG was a 3-2 away defeat to Guingamp last Saturday. PSG officials could not be reached for comment.
