Tue, 29 May 2012 Source: Eugene Baiden

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing Riiiiiiiiiiiiiing

Obama: Hello, is this Akwasi?

Akwasi Appiah: Yes, who is this?

Obama: It’s me Obama, the president of ….

AA: Is this a Joke?

Obama: No, it’s really me. Congratulations on your new position. I’m surprised I got you on the phone. I thought you lost it

AA: Why?

Obama: Because you had to travel all the way to Italy & Dubai just to have a chat with players, who don’t want to play for Ghana.

AA: Oh…you see…. In Ghana, travelling abroad, at the expense of the taxpayer, indicates the importance of one’s position.

Obama: Interesting

AA: Example, our politicians travel left, right & center for no reason, but let’s leave that for another day. So, why did you call?

Obama: Since you eliminated the USA at the last world cup, I called to get advice on how to improve the US national team

AA: You called the right person

Obama: Ok …so?

AA: Firstly, you got to invite the right players. Those who are in top shape and playing regularly for their clubs

Obama: If that’s the case then why did you invite Adiyiah

AA: I am surprised you know him – An indication that our petite striker is known all over the world

Obama: I only know him because your fellow countrymen are complaining

AA: Don’t mind them. Even if I had called Messi they would have complained

Obama: I thought Messi is an Argentine

AA: Barack, stop taking things literally

Obama: just kidding around with you. Go on

AA: …. Secondly, invite some local players

Obama: Why will you do that?

AA: Just to silence the critics.

Obama: So, you do not intend to use them

AA: No way! If they were that good they will not be in Ghana

Obama: I see.

AA: and finally…

Obama: I have to go …. Thanks for the help and all the best off luck
