Obodai Sai will be in action on June 16
Lions Promotions have confirmed that irrespective of the postponement of Mayweather’s ‘Undefeated Tour,’ the clash between Ghana’s Obodai Sai and Walter Kautondokwa will come off on June 16th as planned.
Sai – Kautondokwa battle was part of a boxing show put together to thrill the former five division world champion on June 16th but Upscale Entertainment, organizers of Mayweather’s ‘Undefeated Tour’ confirmed on Monday that the American super star visit to Ghana has been postponed till further notice.
However, General Manager of Lions Promotions, Michael Kofi Oduro in an interview with Sportscrusader.com said despite the setback Sai vs Kautondokwa clash will come on this Friday.
“The fight was part of Mayweather’s ‘Undefeated Tour’ programme but for now, Mayweather’s arrival has been postponed till further notice,” he said.
“Despite that setback, Sai and Kautondokwa will battle each other this Friday, the fight is coming on live at the Bukom Boxing Arena and we are calling on Ghanaians for support.”
Kautondokwa’s will defend his WBO Africa middleweight strap against Sai, also at stake is the vacant IBF Africa middleweight belt.
