A former player of the Black Stars and Aston Villa, Nii Odartey Lamptey, has said he is impressed with the form and performance of Jordan Ayew, despite Aston Villa’s relegation from the English Premier League.
Jordan Ayew has scored six goals in 28 appearances for Aston Villa this season.
Speaking to Class Sports, Lamptey said Jordan should be commended because it is not easy playing in the English league.
“For me, personally, I am impressed with what Jordan did. Maybe people were expecting him to do better than what he did but playing in England is not that easy; different culture, playing three times in a week, training, and all that,” he stated.
He noted that teams will be fighting to get the player’s signature in the next five years.
“Jordan is a material that I am sure the next five years a lot of clubs will fight over, I will not be surprised if one of the big clubs in England grabs him,” Lamptey predicted.
He advised the player to take his time in making a decision regarding his transfer from the club.
“If you do not end up doing the right thing, you end up having problems, especially when it comes to England and other countries. I have been in those shoes before, choosing the wrong team, and a player like Jordan – if you see his style of play – he should go with a team that plays kick and run. He should go with a team….and I am sure West Ham will choose him,” he stated.
“If he does not choose a team wisely he will face problems in England,” he added.
