Ex-Ghana star Nii Odartey Lamptey has tipped youngster Frank Acheampong to make a huge impact at Anderlecht.
Achampong was permanently signed on Wednesday after impressing on loan from Thai side Buriram United.
The 19-year-old featured for Anderlecht’s youth team and played a shone in their Viareggio Cup success last in February.
Acheampong was adjudged Most Valuable Player of the tournament and has convinced the technical team.
He will join the first team in the summer after playing for Ghana at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Turkey.
Lamptey, who played and excelled for the Belgian side between 1990 and 1993, scouted the talented winger for the Purple and Whites.
He believes the teenager has the attributes to hog the headlines next season.
“He (Frank Acheampong) reminds me of myself,” Lamptey told Joy Sports.
“Frank is a player who will pick a ball and take on three defenders and don’t forget they went to Italy to play a competition and he was best player. So I think he is going to make it Belgium,” he added.
Acheampong is reported to have cost Anderlecht US$ 1 million.
He scored 17 goals in 56 games for Buriram United and helped his side to fourth last season, taking them to the AFC Champions League Qualifying play-offs.
