Manchester City youngster Dominic Oduro is hoping to return to action after a lengthy injury layoff.
The-20-year-old winger was loaned by the Citizens to Danish club AGF and subsequently to Belgian Jupiler league side Royal Mouscron Peruwelz last year but was not used due to injuries.
“I suffered from injuries in Belgium. They changed the coach and the team started going down. I played games with the reserve sides, couldn't get the chance to play for the first team because I wasn't fully fit,” Oduro told Goal .
“When I recovered, Peruwelz coach kept promising to give me a chance because I was doing well, but he never used me. I later understood he had preference for his old players, being his second spell with the team.”
Oduro said he was eventually advised by Manchester City to terminate his contract at Peruwelz because they were eager to see him playing. He did just that and went back to Manchester to prepare himself for his next loan. He is now in Sweden training with a division two club and expecting to land a deal anytime soon.
“My purpose in Sweden is to get enough playing time to regain my top form. I will be here for a short time according to instructions from my parent club,” he said.
Groomed at Right to Dream Academy in Ghana, Oduro joined the current Premier League champions in June 2013 after excelling in trials. He played with the youth team before being sent on loan.
