Official: Stevanovic names final 23

Goran Stevanovic has today confirmed his final squad of 23 players who will travel to Gabon for the African Nations Cup.

Having named a pre-tournament squad of 25 players, Stevanovic has trimmed his squad by two as the Black Stars continue their training camp in South Africa.

Striker Asamoah Gyan has been included in the squad, having made good progress on the injury he suffered last month.

Ghana will play Kaizer Chiefs, South Africa and Platinum Stars in the build up to the Nations Cup before traveling to Franceville in Gabon on January 20 with the opening Group D game coming against newcomers, Botswana on January 24, three days after the official start of the tournament.

The Black Stars will follow up their opener with fixtures against West African rivals, Mali four days later and Guinea on February 1 at the same stadium.
