Former Ghana Football Association vice President Fred Pappoe has explained his decision to relinquish his position as an Executive Committee member.
The Football Administrator left his post as the Chairman of the Match Review Panel to concentrate on Club administration.
Fred Pappoe has been working as a management member for Ghana Premier League side Great Olympics which “conflicted” with his duties at the FA.
The former Black Stars B management chairman says he left his duties at the FA in order to keep himself away from the limelight.
“I occupied a number of positions… Until recently, I was the Chairman of the Match Review Panel. I think I occupied the position for about two or three years,” he told Agoo TV.
“[When people see me they], always says I’m missing in action but I understand them because I took a bit of a backstage when I decided not to contest for the Executive Committee.
“It takes you from the limelight which was something I wanted. I needed a bit of rest from the shine all over the place and it has been peaceful so far. I wasn’t pushed out.
I’m still very much active in football; I’ve been following a lot of development on the football scene. What I’m doing now is concentrating a lot on Accra Great Olympics which is my club.”
He has been tipped as a perfect candidate for the Ghana Football Association Presidency.
